Home Page Coastal Cottage Harbour cottage Rates Availability What to See/Do

Whether you prefer a peaceful relaxing holiday or an activity holiday; visiting quiet remote places or visiting towns and cities; sport or wildlife; historic sites or the best that Scotland has to offer, Findochty is the place for you.

Of course, there's lots to see and do for our younger visitors too.

We detail just some of our ideas here. However, ours is a relatively small country and the central location of our Coastal Cottage in Findochty means that most of Scotland is easily accessible to you - mainland and island; highlands to lowlands; coast and mountain.

PEACEFUL RELAXING

Relax with a book near the harbour or on one of the nearby beaches.

Sit on the pier or cliff top and watch for dolphins and other sea life.

Sit on the patio and enjoy the long summer days.

Set up an easel and paint the beautiful scenery.

Enjoy the glorious sunsets for which the Moray coast is famous.

If the weather is not so good, there are lots of games, puzzles, books and DVD's in the cottage.

QUIET REMOTE PLACES

This part of Scotland is totally unspoilt with numerous secluded places of great beauty and interest - deserted beaches; secluded coves; tranquil forests; magnificent moors and mountains.

The Cairngorm National Park is a spectacular and unique wilderness covering an area of 3800 square kms.

A bit closer to 'Home', ruined Findlater Castle occupies a dramatic cliff top site.

Visit the villages of Sandend or Fordyce, (among many others), to be transported back to a time when the pace of life was much slower.
